Kim Barke

Kim Barke is a poet, scientist, and creative director. She is the founder of Scientists & Poets, a small press and platform exploring the intersections of language, biology, and the interior life. Kim received NIH fellowships for both her predoctoral and postdoctoral work on opioid addiction. Later, she earned an MFA in creative writing from Sarah Lawrence College. Kim’s work as a creative director has been recognized with numerous Clios and Cannes Lions, including the coveted Glass Lion for Change for her work on health equity. Kim has published three books of poetry, an absurdist novelette, and written two full-length plays, one of which was featured in the 2024 NYC Fringe Festival. 

Amanda Boekelheide

Amanda splits their time between Brooklyn, NY and the west coast. As an actor, contrarian, cyborg, odd jobist, and lover of tildas and ampersands, Amanda can often be found reading or rehearsing, performing onstage or on some TV show in a yoga class or traveling around thw world learning other languages. Amanda has an MFA in acting from Columbia University and has published three books of poetry with Scientists and Poets.

Nick Hadikwa Mwaluko

Nick (pronoun agnostic / gender atheist) is an award winning playwright who has published two other books: Waafrika (UnCut/Voices Press, 2013) and its sequel, Waafrika 1-2-3 (UnCut/Voices Press, 2016). Nick completed both their B.A. and MFA at Columbia University while a Point Scholar.

Conor Monahan

Raised in New York’s Hudson Valley during the height of the opioid crisis, Conor’s life has spanned Bard College classrooms, Sivananda ashrams, Michelin-starred kitchens, youth hostels, snow-covered mountains, and construction sites. A skater, surfer, electrician, and cook, he brings the same precision and grit to the page that he brings to life: no pretense, just the hard-earned music of survival.
