The Bean Counter
By Kim Barke
The Bean Counter, by Kim Barke, is a darkly satirical fever dream about bureaucracy, contagion, and the quiet thrill of becoming your own archive. Part dystopia, part office comedy, part papery existential crisis, it asks: What happens when the body tells the story before you get a chance to explain yourself?
